Before I moved out here to Alaska last month I was studying early childhood education at Fredoina State University, and from the classes there I learned some pretty valuable lessons about child development that I could relate to my countless years of baby-sitting.
In 2010 I watched an 8-month-old, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Fridays, or when I was not in school.
Recently, I watched a baby who was 4 months old on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and I was also responsible for getting his 8-year-old sister off the bus and on the bus and then watched both of them until their parents got home from work.
I also recently watched a boy who was 12 and his sister who was 9 every Wednesday evening. I would make sure they got off the bus, helped them with homework, gave them dinner, and entertained them until their parents got home from work.
Besides this, I have watched many of my neighbors' children, or other kids in the neighborhood while their parents went out or had appointments.
I have three younger sisters, the youngest being 6! So I have been around little kids my whole life, which has made me very comfortable and good at watching them!
I am looking for work in childcare during my stay here in Alaska (I am a military wife), and my available hours are completely open. If you are interested, just let me know!
