I am a 32-year-old college graduate looking to depart from the retail profession. I've been taking care and tutoring/mentoring kids since I was 13 years old. After graduating high school in 1998, I worked for YMCA tutoring kids aged 11-17, a nanny agency in 1999 (ages newborn-12), as well as summer day camps counseling (aged 5-13). In 2002, I quit working to be a full-time student, and afterward did some temp work, then took a break from caring for kids. Now that I've got a BA in Psychology, I want to get my master's and go on to become a child therapist. I desperately want to get back to looking after children, because I love and miss it. Working and looking after kids is a passion I've held in my heart for more than half my life. I was working in retail, and have recently quit my job because the work was not satisfying for me, I was unhappy in the profession. I miss working with kids and want to get right back to it. I find that children often take a shine to me, and I simply adore the work. I have worked with kids of all ages. People find me most pleasant, polite, trustworthy, and accommodating. I look forward to getting a chance to get back to my passion of caring for kids. Even though I don't own a car, I do utilize the zipcar system and still take MUNI and BART often. Note: I am also pet friendly! I also have housekeeping experience, working for a maid service in 2005, so you might be able to "knock 2 birds with one stone" if you also need housekeeping service.
