I began babysitting about 15 years ago, when I cared for my youngest sister. Also, I babysat regularly for 2 families throughout high school. One family had 2 children, ages 5 and 7. We regularly played games and did arts and crafts, and I helped with homework after school. The other family also had 2 children, a 9-month-old and an 8-year-old. I stayed with the family for 2 years, so I was there to help teach the baby to talk, walk and use the potty. It was a wonderful experience!

After high school, I worked at a daycare for one year. I was responsible for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years. I planned and led games and crafts, served snacks, etc. It was a before and after school daycare center, so I also got children on and off the bus.

Since the daycare, I haven't had any formal childcare experience, but I've continued to be around the children of family and friends.
