I am currently an undergraduate student at Duke, a rising junior and 20 years old. I have been providing child care since age 14. In high school, I babysat for families in my community with newborns all the way up to around 12 years old. After high school, I worked as an overnight summer camp counselor for children ages 7 to 17. As a babysitter, I have consistently provided child care for families with four young children and as a camp counselor, I was responsible for a cabin of up to 14 girls. I am first aid and CPR certified and I have experience with children who have autism, cerebral palsy and type 1 diabetes.

I am completely comfortable with cooking for kids, helping with homework, picking them up from school or extracurricular, taking them out to the park or museum and I have cared for children overnight without any problems.

I am working towards a degree in Linguistics at Duke, with a minor in Spanish. I will also graduate as part of Duke's Program in Education, which will certify me to work as an elementary school teacher in North Carolina. My goal after I receive my undergraduate degree (BA) is to pursue a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and eventually work as a child speech therapist in the school system. I have a passion for children and education.
