I am a junior at Caledonia High School. I am 17 years old and I have been babysitting since I was about 14. My first job was for the elementary age children next door to me, as well as down the street. I took the children to the public pool, played outside, inside, and even overnight. When my neighbor had her third child, I also would take care of him. When I moved to Michigan, I got jobs from my neighbors for children as young as three. This past year, I began babysitting every other Saturday for my mom's hairdresser, who had a child in September 2010. I have babysat for a total of 10 families on many different occasions. It is a great way for a high school student to make money without having a demanding work schedule. I also love children and love spending time and playing with them. I am extremely excited to have children of my own when I am married. Babysitting is a passion of mine and I love to do it.
