I am 29, very happily married (planning on kids for 2014), and I have over 9 years of experience (and counting) with toddlers and infants. I respect each child as an unique individual, and build a warm, loving, trusting relationship with them.
I love arts and crafts. I also love music. I am a music teacher offering voice and piano lessons, and a performer. I always incorporate music with babysitting because music helps promote faster overall development of a young child's brain and of their motor skills. I work well with children, and they warm up easily with me. I love to play games and sing to them. I also like to be involved and act things out when I am reading a story to them. I was an early childhood development teacher at a play and music center, catering to infants and children from 0-5 years old.
I am CPR/First Aid and AED Certified for Pediatrics, from hands-on classes with the Red Cross. I am trained in everything from scrapes/bruises/choking/allergies and insect/snake bites, to fractures, cardiac arrest, not breathing and unconscious patients, etc. I am most of all smart enough (masters degree GPA 3.93) to not get anyone into any situations that might need the emergency help. I am also an INA (International Nanny Association) member, vowing to follow their guidelines and live up to, if not exceed, their standards.
I am a non-smoker and I don't drink. I have my own transportation and have a clean driving record. I am fluent in four languages, namely English, Mandarin, Fukien, Tagalog. I am acquainted with German, Italian, French.
Despite my extensive background, I choose to be working with children because I have a genuine love and respect for children, and have the desire to make a positive contribution in the lives of children under my care. I am looking for a family that would consider me as one of them, not just a help, because working with your children means being a part of their lives too.
My references are available upon request. I am interested in a full time nanny position, but part-time babysitting is also very welcome.
