Hello there, my name is Joy. I am a student but is currently taking this semester off. I will be continuing my education this Spring with online courses. I had a full time job as an assistant manager for the time being but decided that babysitting is what I missed and did best. I really would like to get back to this job. I was a babysitter since the age of 16 for a family friend. She has 3 little girls, age 8, 5 & 3. I had taken care of them for 5 years up until I moved to Chicago for school. The girls had so much energy and always wanted to play. It reminded me of myself when I was a child so it was really easy to relate to. I would say that I don't have an age preference for what ages I would take care of. The girls I took care of pretty much grew up with me. Also, if there is a family pet, I am completely comfortable with that. I absolutely love pets and actually have a dog myself.

Some philosophies I use when I babysit is that children should never be allowed sweets pass 7 o'clock. Too much caffeine will effect their sleep schedule. I also believe that they should be active kids just like I was when I was younger. Meaning to play outside, run around and play tag or even taking walks instead of being in front of the television. A couple of my favorite things to do with kids is to read or have them read to me! Teaching children new things makes me feel really good about myself and so proud of the child. Another favorite thing I like to do is to play scrabble with them. It makes them really think and create new words.

I currently have no children myself but I know one day, I would love to have at least 2-3 children of my own. Another thing about myself is that I am Tri-lingual. I was actually born in Thailand but moved here at a very young age. I can speak English, Thai and Lao! Even though I am a student, I am responsible, trustworthy and a very hard learner. I hope after reading my bio that you would see how great care your child would be in. I am someone you can truly trust and you sure won't regret it!
