I got my bachelor's of science degree in Psychology with an emphasis in child and family at the University of Pittsburgh in 1990. I began caring for children as a paid neighborhood babysitter at 11years old. I nannied throughout college to supplement my income and am still in contact with that family and almost every family with which I have ever worked, including many adult children. Upon graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, I worked with profoundly disabled adults, but my heart was always with children. I became a nanny after my daughter was born and went on to be an infant/toddler lead teacher, then a Center Director and finally to own my own in home daycare for over 6 years. I have done many jobs, but the best ones have been with children. I have basically raised my own three children, my youngest is 14, and have enjoyed every moment. I long to have small children in my life again and with a recent lay off in my educational software training career I have decided to look into caring for a child/children once again. I believe birth to 8 is the most important age for learning. I love to creatively explore the world with children.
