I have two children of my own, a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, who have provided me with the best experience of all. In addition to my own personal experience as a mother, I have been in the childcare profession for 10 years. I am an in-home childcare provider with a Fairfax County permit, which means that the Office for Children has conducted a safety inspection, the fire marshal has inspected the home, all adults in the home have had a background check, and I am certified in CPR and Pediatric First Aid. In order to maintain my permit, the county also requires that I take continuing education classes that pertain to children.

On top of all of my credentials as a mother and an experienced childcare provider, I love children. I wouldn't be in this business if I didn't. I have a lot of patience with children, and quite frankly they make me smile. They are so full of life and there is never a dull moment with a child around! I have watched many children over the years, and they usually end up feeling like part of the family as time goes on.

I am open and honest, and I try to pay close attention to each families' specific needs. I try to provide a loving and caring place for children to come while their parents are at work. I have a wide range of age-appropriate toys, games, books, and arts and crafts for the children to use while they are here. I think it is important for children to spend some time outside each day, so we usually make a trip to one of the several playgrounds in our neighborhood as long as the weather permits. I also love taking children on nature walks. I think that children thrive from having a variety of experiences, so I try to provide as many as possible, whether it be a trip to the grocery store, library, zoo, or the pool (only if the parents are comfortable with their children going on such outings). I believe that you can turn any experience into a fun, learning experience.
