Instructor, Supervisor, Coach at a high school kid's camps. This was a volunteer position where I taught and supervised basketball and volleyball at camps designed for elementary aged young girls. The critical skills learned included patience, diligence, fairness, conflict resolutions and people skills. This position required the ability to interact with parents in a professional and friendly manner during recruiting, the registration process and in daily discussion with parents who wanted to know everything about their child. This taught me the value of being a leader relating to parents and young girls with different attitudes, confidences and abilities. I also babysat a lot when I was younger, with children of various ages and needs. Spending time and interacting with children is just as rewarding for me, as it is the parents, knowing that, their children are safe. I was also a Resident Assistant for the Housing Dorms on Campus at CSU Long Beach. I was able to mentor, regulate and guide the incoming freshmen to the Resident Halls at CSULB. My job was to guide each resident to help them become well adjusted, safe, and have an enjoyable first year college experience.
