I attend Wellesley College just outside of Boston, MA where I will graduate with a BA in English in 2014. My experience with children began with my four younger siblings, two brothers and two sisters, and continued with many youth-focused organizations including Girl Scouts of America, YMCA, and a Children's Foundation, where I volunteered from 2006-2010 and interned in 2012. I assistant taught in the two and 4-year-old classrooms at a Children's Center in 2011 and also worked for a private preschool outside of Charlottesville, VA. I have volunteered for several after-school programs, tutored kids in grades 4 and 5 in all subjects, tutored high school students in English and SAT Prep, and worked in my church's infant nursery. I have also assisted cooking classes at a children's cooking school and led birthday parties for ages, 1-9, at a popular birthday party franchise for kids. I babysit and nanny children, ages newborn to 16 including multiples, Special Needs, and some behavioral problems. I have a good deal of experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum, with ADD, and with ODD and Bipolar disorder. My sitting experience ranges from evenings to full-day care during the academic year. In the summer, I have worked as a full-time nanny (45 hours/week M-F). I have experience with Sleep Training, Potty Training, and CPR and First Aid. I love outings, outdoor play, swimming, games, cooking, and crafts. I have a strong interest in the arts especially painting and poetry. I am very organized and responsible and capable of managing a full household schedule, tidying up, driving, shopping, tutoring, resolving conflicts, whatever your family needs! I am energetic and fun, excellent at engaging children in conversation, and also good at setting expectations and limits. I always build strong relationships with the children that I care for and seek to love, challenge, entertain, and support them!
