I have always loved children!! I started out as an elementary school student teaching and caring for my baby dolls!! During high school, I babysat for the teachers and was also a nursery worker at my church. After high school, I attended UNC where I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While at UNC, I was an after school worker for Chapel Hill/Carrboro school system. I also cared for 2 children when they got home from school one year. During my senior year of college, I student taught in a 3rd grade classroom. Throughout my education at UNC, I had experience with children from kindergarten to 6th grade. After graduating UNC, I began teaching kindergarten in Wake County. I taught for 3 years. Then I resigned to get my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from NCSU. While working on my Master's degree, I was a nanny for a Chapel Hill family for one year. When I started, I was caring for a little girl (14 months) and a boy (4 years). It was a great job! I went back to teaching kindergarten the following year. I just had my own daughter in January 2010 and want to be able to stay with her now.

I have experience with children from newborns to 6th grade! Working with children is so much fun! I loved teaching, but want to spend time with my own child. We are expecting our 2nd daughter this September but that will not keep me from keeping kids!! I will be working up until my due date and then back at it a few weeks after!!

We moved from North Carolina to Missouri last year (June 2011). I have been keeping kids in my home since we got here. I currently keep kids for a few different families, when they need a babysitter. I am looking for a more regular schedule for this coming year.
As a caregiver, I work very hard to make sure your child is always safe. I also try hard to keep your child entertained with books, music, puzzles, play-doh, pretend play, trains, coloring, painting, outside time, and much more! I do not currently have a CPR certification card but have been trained several times and am in the process of getting re-certified.
