Hello friends: It is with great pleasure that I would like to be considered for this job opportunity. I graduated from college with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I also have my Master's degree in Elementary Mathematics and Science. Teaching certificates available at your request. I am currently employed in Grove City, where for the past four years I have been a full time emotional support teacher for children, ages K-6. I recently found out I may be furloughed due to budget cuts for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. I have experience working with children of all ages and abilities. The make-up of my classroom consists of students with ADD, ADHD, ODD, OCD, PDD-NOS, Autism, PTSD, RAD, conduct disorder, bi-polar, etc. So as you can see, I am very familiarized and educated in regards to children with varying needs. When I was younger I cared for a special needs girl five days a week from 9-5. I also cared for a family of three on a weekly basis. My duties as a caregiver involved meal preparation, social interaction, role playing during structured activities, house clean-up, etc. I am very active and 'hands on' with children, both inside and outside of the classroom. I am the caretaker not the TV, play station, Nintendo, etc. Research suggests children learn best through play. I think it is fair to say that I am a very patient and understanding individual. I come from a family of five. I am the youngest of three girls. There is nothing more important to me than my family. My family and friends often comment on my positivity and I would love the opportunity to interact with your child and foster an environment of growth and exploration.
