I am a mother of two teenage daughters and an experienced nanny with over 15 years child care experience with infants (4 months+ to 13+). I find childcare very gratifying, fun-filled, often enlightening and challenging. It is great having a job that you love.
I am a very kind, fair, patient, dependable, and fun-loving person who would take excellent care of your child/children. Although I do take my job very seriously, I also enjoy being silly and doing things that little kids like to do. I am very easy going and will treat your children like a close aunt would. I am by no means a push over and will be firm if the child/children cross boundaries. I will always encourage and praise your child/children when they try new things but will never force them to do something they don't want to do. I will take your lead on parenting and follow your house rules to keep things consistent and to be supportive to you and your spouse. I try to encourage sharing and being kind and respectful to one another. If caring for more than one child, especially if one is not old enough to communicate, I will always be an advocate for the younger child.
My goal is to give you peace of mind, so you can feel at ease that everything is going well and under control. I am a good cook and will make healthy meals/snacks and also enjoy baking. I will do whatever your child/children enjoy doing. I enjoy playing make believe, having tea parties, doing arts and crafts, building, playing board games and guessing games. I also love the outdoors and enjoy going for nature walks, to the local park, walking downtown, as well as reading all sorts of books. Some of my favorite books are Don't Let The Pigeon Ride The Bus, Knuffle Bunny, Are You My Mother, The Hungry Caterpillar, and Strega Nonna.
I have worked for families from many different backgrounds and cultures. I am experienced with children who have allergies, sensory issues, anxiety, ADHD and Down syndrome. I am also experienced with children who are potty training, have separation anxiety and who have a new baby at home.
I have also lived and studied abroad and can speak Italian, Spanish and some French. I enjoy living in Newburyport with my husband and two daughters.
I am a non-smoker, with a safe driving record, a very reliable car and am comfortable around most pets.
I also have excellent, current references and have recently had a background check done by Care.com.
Thanks for your time, I look forward to hearing from you.
