I have been caring for children for the past 13 years. I have worked with newborns, infants, toddlers and young children. From homework duties to studying for exams, preparing meals, transporting children to and from after school obligations and OT/PT sessions, organizing daily activities, I am attentive to each child, ensuring their safety as well as their happiness. I believe fun can be incorporated into each and every task, and I have a positive outlook that helps me to tackle situations and find the fun in them for everyone. I enjoy taking children out on trips where they can learn and see new things. Arts and crafts is my favorite activity because I feel it is a healthy and creative way to further a child's cognitive development and self expression. When I was a child, there was nothing more I disliked than the feeling of adults speaking down to me. Therefore, I communicate with children on a child's level and I feel this is a major building block in establishing a healthy child-nanny relationship. In college, my minor was disability studies after I began caring for a child with Asperger Syndrome.
