I have been a nanny for 6+ years, and with my current family for over 3 1/2 years now. When I started, they had a 7-month-old daughter. Now she is 4 and has a 14-month-old brother! I take the oldest to preschool, do occasional grocery shopping and errand running, the kids laundry, light housekeeping, and general around the house help. I love both kiddos to death. Their mom has decided to try being a stay at home mom, and that's why I'm looking for a new family.
I have also worked/volunteered in the daycare at my high school all three years I was there, working with kids who were newborn to first grade. I worked in an after school program at a local elementary school with kids from first grade to sixth grade. I have two little sisters I've cared for their entire lives, and have always babysat for my mom's friends through the years.
I love dinosaurs, animals, outer space, playing make believe, coloring, dress up, and arts and crafts.
I excel at building cardboard box rocket ships [or houses, or castles] and making feathered headdresses, pasta necklaces, and English muffin pizzas.
I love going to the park, aquarium, planetarium, children's museum, or just around the neighborhood.
I am extremely responsible, punctual, and reliable. I think in the last three and a half years I've been with my current family I have called in sick twice - once when I had strep throat, and once when I caught a stomach bug. Both illnesses were brought home with the preschooler and passed around the adults! In both instances I gave approx 12 hours notice. I know how hard it is to make child care arrangements and will try my best to be there whenever you need me! I'm also very flexible. Coming in early or staying late is usually not a problem!
I'm super fun and interactive. I will do my best to be a positive presence in your kids' lives, gaining their and your trust as a friend and caregiver. I'm also more than happy to send pictures and videos via email or text so you don't miss out during the day! I'll be the next best thing to having mom and dad home :)
I love both cats and dogs, so I don't mind taking care of them, either!
By June 6 I will be First Aid & CPR certified! I will be getting CNA certified by the end of the summer and will hopefully begin taking Nursing classes this fall! I would love to find a family for the summer, or longer term while I earn my degree
