I am currently interning at New Mexico School for the Deaf, working with children from toddlers to high school students....

My educational background includes a high school diploma, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (with minors in Spanish and Family and Child Studies), and I am about to graduate with a Master's degree in School Counseling and Guidance with an emphasis on deaf and hard of hearing children.

I am currently interning at New Mexico School for the Deaf, working with children from toddlers to high school students. I have worked at numerous summer camps as a camp counselor supervising deaf children from 6-18 years old. I have worked for my hometown's summer recreation program four years in a row as a playground supervisor. As both a summer camp counselor and playground supervisor, I was responsible for ensuring children's safety and enjoyment through consistent supervision and providing various activities. In addition, I have provided babysitting services for young children (elementary and middle school ages)

I am most comfortable with children who use American Sign Language and/or are deaf and hard of hearing. I am deaf myself and am fluent in American Sign Language, written English, and written Spanish.

I believe that children are extremely valuable in our society and deserve the best care and utmost respect. I believe that people don't give enough recognition in terms of their intelligence, feelings, development, and creativity. It is my goal to ensure that children receive the care and respect that they most deserve.
