In addition to assisting with care for my two younger brothers as we were growing up, I also started babysitting for family, friends, and neighbors at the age of 13. While my paid childcare work went by the wayside when I graduated from college, I have continued to provide free childcare for family and friends. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, including coursework in Child Development and Psychology, and the Psychology of Learning. I am currently working on an alternative certification program to receive my teaching certification. I also have experience working with both adults and children with special needs. Six years of this experience was through a paid position working with adults with developmental disabilities and approximately 10 years of experience in volunteer work with children with special needs.
