I started baby sitting through my Mother who is a preschool teacher and also taught baby sitting certification classes and safety. My first baby sitting job was at my Mom's preschool in the summer watching other siblings who were not in school while their parents and children were in the classroom (it is a parent participation preschool). After that job I became a swim coach at 15 with the swim club also swam at. I taught 30 7-8-year-olds how to swim, perfect their stroke, but most importantly to have fun in the water. I also have taught private swim lessons to children as well. The most rewarding part working with kids is being able to see the change and excitement while they grow and develop and learn new activities they never knew they were capable of achieving whether it is to learn to swim, finish their first book on their own, or tie their own shoe, no matter how big the achievement, the moment when a child smiles after is priceless.
