Creative Experience:
I have creative experience with kids in all sorts of settings. I've been a youth music director, after-school music teacher, private lesson instructor, day care worker, director of girls mentoring program, camp counselor, day camp leader, community youth center volunteer, and to top it of, a clown for birthday parties!
My specific experience as a live-in nanny was for 4 months during college for two young children (ages 2 and 5). My favorite memories from that time were dancing to music, fun at the park, baking cookies together and exploring the zoo.

Interests:
I love sharing my joy of music. I have taught children as young as four to sing and play piano or guitar. My style of teaching music is similar to my "nanny-style ". I love to have fun! If one approach does not work, then I utilize creativity to find the best way to interactively connect with that child or teenager. I am also very compassionate and patient with special needs.

Specialty:
I specialize with Jr. High kids. I worked with that age specifically for two years as a music director in a youth ministry program. I have enjoyed youth retreats and fun activities with this age group and feel like I understand this stage or life well. I also studied adolescent development in college when I was a music/psychology major. I have strong communication and interpersonal skills with both kids and parents. I consider myself a very flexible person and am able to adapt to the fast paced lives of youth and all the excitement they bring to life.
