I'm a 38-year-old woman who worked as a nanny on Bainbridge Island, WA for almost 3 years. I have now started working as a nanny in the Salt Lake City area for the past year.

I love the playful energy I feel when I am around children. I get such a high from it. I also feel that it is also important that children are shown respect and have their feelings validated. I look at them when I am talking to them. I think it's just as important to point out what they are doing right just as much as pointing out when they are doing something that is dangerous or a behavior that needs correcting. I have this natural ability for getting down on a child's level and see the world through their eyes. I wouldn't just plop your child in front of the TV. Instead I would color, do creative projects, read to them, play imagination games, make up stories, dance crazy in the living room, build huts with the couch cushions and take them for walks in the park, gateway fountain or to the zoo. I find that taking kids out in nature makes my job easy so I do it as often as the weather permits. Looking out for their safety while we play is a big priority of mine.

I worked for a lot of different families on Bainbridge and had two families who became my regular gigs, two boys ages 2 and 4 for a year and a half and two girls ages 5 and 7 for two years.

I have experience taking care of a 3-month-old here in the Avenues which I very much enjoyed.

I have no children of my own, but I was the third oldest in a family of 11 children! I also have a beautiful 8-year-old step daughter. On many occasions, I have also cared for my nieces and nephews ages ranging from 6 months to 12 years.

I also have my own reliable 1999 Volkswagen Passat station wagon and a clean driving record.

I have been CPR certified for children and infants.

I took a six-week parenting course called Love & Logic in April-May 2010.
