I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. I am certified to teach kindergarten through 8th grade with a middle school emphasis in Language Arts and Social Sciences. Throughout college, I had the opportunity to work with students of all ages and feel comfortable teaching at all grade levels. For the past three years, I have been working as an Instructional Assistant in the Special Education setting. I spent one year in Naperville's school system in a fully mainstreamed middle school setting, and have been in the Schaumburg school system for the past two years in a primary aged self-contained classroom. I have been enrolled in Sign Language classes provided by my school district and am planning on going back to school part-time to obtain a Special Education endorsement on my teaching certificate. In the past, I have also worked at the Huntington Learning Centers in Naperville and Downer's Grove as a tutor for students ranging in age from Early Childhood to College.
