I have raised four children, and ran a family home daycare business during the 1990's. I also taught preschool to the children in my daycare. I also worked as a Teacher's Aide in a Christian school, and home-schooled a few years with my children. Through the years, I have cared for groups of friend's children, organized and ran children's church programs, taught Sunday school, and was Song-Leader at several Vacation Bible Schools. I was also a Day Camp counselor. I love to sit and play with little ones, read books with them, do puzzles, coloring, simple crafts, and sing songs. I know a lot of fun songs with hand motions, and I can play guitar, and some piano. If your children are school age, I can help them with homework, and I love to play board games. I'm willing to cook meals and do light housekeeping, too (dishes, fold laundry). Any pets are fine with me. I love dogs, cats, ferrets, hamsters, even snakes. And I especially love big stacks of new, colorful library books. I try to bring some with me every time I sit. I am available to babysit for one or two days a week, and occasional nights out (early evening into late night/early morning hours) and overnights. Occasional weekends are good too. I am certified in Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED, First Aid, and Basic Life Saving.
For extended hours my fee is reduced, and I offer a flat rate for overnights. My *standard* rate for 1-2 young children (age 7 and under) is
$12 an hour for the first 3 to 4 hours -
$10 an hour for the next 8 hours -
$8 an hour for the next 4 hours -
$40 flat rate for the next 8 hours (overnight)
*less for older children/teens, & more for additional children, or special needs.
Minimum session is 3 hours.
