I am a wife and mother of two beautiful children. I have a 6-year-old boy who is attending Kindergarten and a 21-month-old girl. That is quite a bit right there! Almost two years ago I left my job at Third Federal Savings to provide care for children and have more time with my little ones. I am currently caring for a 3-year-old girl and her 1-year-old sister, a 2-year-old boy, an 18-month-old girl, and my daughter...
I am a wife and mother of two beautiful children. I have a 6-year-old boy who is attending Kindergarten and a 21-month-old girl. That is quite a bit right there! Almost two years ago I left my job at Third Federal Savings to provide care for children and have more time with my little ones. I am currently caring for a 3-year-old girl and her 1-year-old sister, a 2-year-old boy, an 18-month-old girl, and my daughter who is 21 months. I have had a partner and long time friend working with me for the past 6 months, who will continue to do childcare with me in my home. So there are two of us watching and helping your child learn and play at all times. If one of us is sick you can still have childcare. We enjoy nurturing the little ones we care for.
I learn as I go how to put a schedule and projects together depending on the ages of the children I will care for. I take it step by step with one child at a time, adjusting them into my home while adjusting to their individual needs. I have taken all the steps to become county certified. Childcare classes I have taken include: Child Abuse and Neglect (6 hours), Health and Safety (7 hours), Communicable Diseases (6 hours), and First Aid (6 hours) and CPR certified (4 hours). I have had background and fingerprint checks through the FBI and state. I can provide you with document proof of all stated above. I am currently on a waiting list due to low demand of county certified caregivers with our down economy while so many are without work. My home is smoke free, and clean. My basement has been transformed into a fun, safe, learning environment for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. The basement has been waterproofed in and out. There are natural stone floors, locked doors to block off laundry room and tool room, carpeted steps/baby gates at top and bottom, smoke detectors/fire extinguisher, play area, learning area/chalkboard, work table, nap area, and baby area. During the school year the children will do arts and crafts, homework help, school prep, coloring, letters, shapes, writing, tracing, and lots of attention with younger children. During the summer, Wed and Fri are water days; the children have a slip and slide, mini pool, and sprinklers, to keep them cool and having fun. On Tues we have show and tell and story time at the West Park Library (weather permitting). Fri is pajama and movie day.
