I want to make sure the children first trust me, are comfortable around me and enjoy my being around. I want to be fun and enjoyable for the children, but also let them know that I am the responsible adult in the house and I'm here to make sure they are safe from harm and to keep the dynamics of the house and family in line. Young children live by their emotions, and at times let their emotions override their means to communicate. I am understanding of their developmental stages and want to help them learn to express their feelings verbally. In summary, I believe I am a good balance of discipline, very compassionate and understanding of the children I watch. I would never physically or mentally hurt any children ever! Being a mother, I also understand how important it is to find someone that you trust, but someone your child can trust when the most important people in the world are gone from their home, their parent(s). I was a babysitter while in high school for various different age groups and a summer camp counselor while in college. That is where I got some experience with special needs children. I was a very busy athlete throughout my education, and love to find ways to keep children active while also learning and having fun. I love being active and keeping others active and am now pursing my Master's in Physical Education. I have a 6-month-old son, and love being a mom. I enjoy watching children learn and manipulate the world so innocently. I've never loved and appreciated it more now that I'm a mother.
