My name is Jennie, and I am a 27-year-old nanny living and working in Seattle. I currently care for two boys (aged 5 and 3) and they beautiful sister who is 10 months. We have shared many amazing adventures over the three years I have spent with their family, but sadly, they are relocating this summer. As they embark on a new adventure, I have been blessed with the opportunity to find new companions to find adventure and wonder with! I will be available for full-time work as of July 1st.

I grew up on a farm in Eastern Washington as the second eldest of eight children. Growing up on the farm, adventure was everywhere! Every day was filled with wonder. My childcare philosophy is centered on the childlike wonder and a sense of adventure I enjoyed as a child, coupled with a deep sense of respect. Children are brand-new to this world, and they want to learn about everything! Why not make learning an adventure, a wonderful experience? I like to approach the questions and curiosities of childhood in a way that allows the children to explore the world around them, learning through personal experience. I plan activities based around the individual interests and developmental needs of each child. I like to let children get really hands-on and explore with all their senses, soaking in all that their world has to offer them. Children thrive on having their interests acknowledged and their independence respected. By modeling respect to children (for the world around them, for other people, for creatures, and for themselves), I teach them to be strong, well-rounded individuals who value themselves and others.

Choosing to have someone care for your children can be a difficult choice to make. I value the trust that parents place in me. I make it a priority to reinforce to the children how loved and important they are to their parents. I respect the family and make sure not to detract from their time together. I strive to support the parents in every way I can. I arrive at work on time (or early if needed... I gladly head the call), ready to take on any tasks requested. I maintain flexibility to meet the parents where their needs are. It is of utmost importance to me that my employers are secure in the knowledge that their children are well cared for, safe, and happy, so that when they walk through the door at the end of the day, they can relax with their children.

I view my position as a nanny to be a fun and exciting but reliable support for the whole family.
