I am seeking meaningful part-time employment close to home.

I can't think of anything more meaningful than teaching and caring for children.

I was trained as a preschool teacher at a university, worked in the laboratory school there throughout the academic year and summer, and assumed a teaching position in the community upon graduation. I have cherished the moments of my daughter's childhood, and any chance to care for, and teach young children. I don't smoke and don't want to be around smoke. I don't drink, do any type of drugs and I am happy to submit to any kind of drug testing. I love having fun with children. I can be silly, real silly. I also understand the importance of providing appropriate expectations, consistent limits and a safe, nurturing, stimulating environment for children to explore their world, learn, and feel good about themselves. I like to get creatively messy with children, and I also value cleanliness, organization and respect for one's environment.

I believe emotional and physical abuse of children is a crime. I will not discipline children by shaming, threatening, harming their hearts nor bodies in any way. I am able to set limits and adhere to them, offer logical consequences to behavior. And as a very last resort, I know how to perform comforting, non-violent restraint, if a child poses a threat to himself or another.

I was always extremely selective about my own daughter's childcare providers. Consequently, I welcome all questions and invite you to get to know me to see if I might be a good match for your childcare needs.

In addition to the references listed here, I have written letters from previous employers, including those within the education/childcare realm.

With the exception of emergency situations, I prefer not to drive when roads are icy and/or slippery, and prefer working in Golden or close by.
