Janell has worked for our family for 1 1/2 years, providing excellent care to our 4 kids (current ages 12,9,5,3). We could not have asked for a more positive experience! She seamlessly established herself into our busy lives and adeptly managed the varied needs of each of my kids. With the little ones, she established a consistent daily routine which included trips to the park, library, zoo, etc. She also set aside time daily to work on a pre-school curriculum with them. She prepared breakfast, lunch and snack and took charge of all the children's laundry. With the school age kids she welcomed them off the bus, provided homework assistance and would oversee their chores and music lesson practicing. Janell is extremely organized and kept everybody pointed in the right direction. We received a daily communication sheet that detailed activities, meals, nap times, what homework/tasks were completed, positive comments about their accomplishments and alerts to any behaviors that might need to be addressed. Janell is very hardworking, pro-active and reliable. She respects the role of the parents and supports any lesson/message we are trying to impart to our kids, but is also able to be an independent thinker and effectively manage the daily discipline issues that naturally arise in age appropriate ways. She also helped us with household managing- schedule the exterminator, carpet cleaner, repair guy, etc. We were planning to have her return to work with us with her new baby (super cute!) but this plan was foiled by her car being unable to accommodate an infant carrier and my two carseats. I would love for her be able to find another family to help out and I have no doubt she would continue to be very diligent, capable and loving to her new charges.
