I have had all sorts of care taking jobs. I have worked with babies, toddlers, physically disabled youth, teenagers, and elderly people. I am the oldest of nine children (my youngest sister just turned 3) which has given me plenty of babysitting opportunities. I've volunteered in the church nursery, as well as the youth group. I've been a camp counselor for a couple of different summers and been responsible for up to 10 girls at a time, ranging from 8 years old to 16 years old. I spent a couple years during college caring for two younger girls who were physically disabled. I drove them to school, helped them with their homework, prepared their meals, took them shopping, and almost everything else you can imagine. I spent a couple of years working with the elderly as well. I love jobs where I am able to work directly with people, being able to care for them in any way that can impact them in a positive way. It feels great to have a job, where at the end of the day, I can feel like I really made a difference!
