I grew up as an only child and always wished I had siblings to play with when I was not able to spend time with my friends. Since I spent most of my time around adults, I have grown up to be somewhat of a big kid at heart. I love to care for children because I feel I get to relive the childhood that I missed out on in some ways. I have had five years of experience caring for children, mainly as a lifeguard and babysitter. I started caring for children as a lifeguard at the Long Beach Yacht Club where children are the main pool-goers. In those five years I became good friends with the children, began babysitting for many families that were members at the club, utilized my first aid skills, and was able to have fun with the kids while ensuring a safe pool environment. The most fulfilling and rewarding part of the job was getting to know the children at the pool and becoming good friends with the families. It was during that time that I learned how enriched my life became when it was spent around children. While I only lifeguard during the summers, I have been babysitting year round for three years. I have attended vacations with families in which I supervised children while kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, and doing other sports. While I love to have fun with children, I also realize that safety comes first and do everything to make sure that the kids I am watching are safe. I am extremely responsible and passionate about caring for children!
