Dear families,

My name is Ivana and I have been around children all my life.
I basically grew up in a teacher's family. My mother was a teacher at the elementary school and I was sometimes asked to assist her in the classroom which I really enjoyed. Later on I became a teacher myself in English as well as the ballroom teacher in my home country, Slovakia.

I studied economy and marketing. I am also a student at the massage school and planning to take evening classes at the Chicago Waldorf School for teachers.

I have been working for many beautiful families here in Chicago and the suburbs, part-time, full-time, temporary or long-term commitments. I have 12+ years experience with children of all ages here in America from newborn to almost 14 years old. The longest reference and relationship with the family I have is since 2000. They now have 3 children and my 10-year-old son has known them ever since he was born. I still work for them part-time. I consider them our family.
I also enjoyed having a home daycare for a while when my son was younger. I took care of other children mostly from the neighborhood. It was really a beautiful experience, since we had a spectrum of different ages. I prepared home-made meals for all of us and the children enjoyed safe and warm environment while their parents were at work.

I am skillful in many areas and I enjoy introducing children to all kinds of things - from knitting, crocheting, embroidering, painting, gardening, cooking, reading, dancing, to just letting them be inspired to do what makes them happy. I encourage them to eat nutritious food and keep their bodies healthy also by being outside among trees in the nature.
At the same time, I always respect the wishes of their parents and what they believe is important for their children on all levels.

I believe that children are our future and we need to give them all the tools, so they can thrive on all levels.
