Hello,
I have worked directly with children of all ages, on and off, for 12+ years in many capacities such as; nanny, tutor, after school teacher and coordinator, general babysitting, day care, summer school, children's program within a housing program, etc. I love working with ages 6 months to 6 years. However, I am comfortable working with all ages. My approach to child care involves endless amounts of encouragement, teaching, and laughter combined with clear limits, safety consciousness, and consistent expectations. I support and respect the journey kids are on, learning how to navigate and learn about the world emotionally, educationally, and socially. I am extremely patient, orderly, and confident in my abilities in working with children. I do my best to follow the established structure of a household and uphold the parents' wishes for their children. I can provide excellent references on request.
I just started an on-call position in my new career as a Surgical Tech. This new job will take up most of my work time however, I am available for the occasional evening sitting opportunity. Taking care of kids will always be a part of my life, even as I embark into a new career.
