Caring for children has always been a part of my life. I baby-sat for many families in my community as a teenager and frequently took care of my pastor's seven children (ages 9 and under) during weekend trips away. I was the first call for service by our neighbors who needed full time help home-schooling and caring for their two children (ages 5 and 2). Additionally, I would feed many pets around the ranch, handling home-office mail, bills for the corporation and maintaining home, meals, etc., all while mommy was in the hospital for two months having triplets! After their birth is when the real fun began, with now four in diapers and three preemies on heart monitors and breathing apparatus. I am accustomed to looking for the signs of how a child is needing care and giving my full attention to nurture your child's physical, emotional and intellectual well-being. I have a lot of personal experience with a sister much younger than I, giving insight into the challenges and joys associated with Down's syndrome. Additionally, I worked with youth in a structured character building program in public schools as a certified character coach. Over the past three years, I have tutored all ages (primary/secondary school) in multiple academic subjects. It is my desire to see children growing to be all that they can be.
