I have an immense amount of experience working with children. When I was in high school, I devoted one summer to nanny two boys (ages 9 and 11) whose parents were divorced. I had to rotate between two homes and learn two completely different schedules. I am a wonderful multitasker, and I never missed a beat with this family. I have also worked at two top daycare facilities while I was in college. At the first daycare I was in charge of five 1-year-olds. I was completely in charge of their entire care, from diaper changes to planning activities. Also, during this time, I helped with the 2-year-old class when needed. I have experience with the so-called "terrible twos" and gained some great tips for potty-training. At the second daycare, I rotated between infants, one to 3-year-olds, and even substituted for the pre-kindergarten class several times. Not only have I worked extensively with young children, I am also in a unique position. My parents adopted my younger siblings from China when I was much older, so I have had the opportunity to almost co-parent my siblings (they were adopted at ages 12 months and 3 years, and are now 8 and 5, respectively). Additionally, I have my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Human Development and Family Studies, which has helped me understand how children grow and develop. I understand how children grow physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively, and I have the skills to help your child reach their full potential in each of these areas. I have a passion for working with young children. I am a very fun, loyal, compassionate, and dedicated person. I am not the kind of caregiver that sits in the background and simply "watches" a child, doing the bare minimum. I love to play, teach, and be actively involved with the children I care for. Additionally, this summer I gained my CPR certification and am well trained to tackle any emergency.
Here's a little bit more about myself. I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and lived there with my family until I moved to Lubbock, Texas to begin college. I have three siblings, an older sister and a younger sister and brother. My family means everything to me, and I have missed them very much since I have moved to Chicago. I want to utilize the degrees I earned by working as a nanny. I would love to talk more with you if you are interested, so feel free to contact me. Thanks!
