I have worked in the childcare business for many years. I started when I was 20 working for the daycare on campus at UW Fox Valley. After about 2 years, I worked full time in a daycare setting. I worked mainly with the 2-year-old's, but then became a float and worked with children from newborns to school age.

Working in the daycare setting, I was required by the state to take early childhood classes and be certified in CPR and first aid. I kept my classes up to date and produced age appropriate lesson plans to help the children learn and grow. I enjoy working with children and seeing the world through their eyes. I help them grow on every level from nutritious meals and snacks to engaging crafts and play time to help them develop.

I encourage a healthy lifestyle by taking walks, playing outside, and activities inside as well. I want the children to grow up feeling confident about themselves and their surroundings. I also encourage feedback from the parents since they are the "boss" and it's their children I'm looking after. I am very reliable and flexible in schedules, times, and updates. I look for consistency since it's best for the children, but I also know that life can throw you curve balls and I'm willing to adapt to those situations as needed.

I have also been a nanny in home for 2 different families. I watched 3 children in one home ages 2, 4, and 6. I helped with homework, naps, taking them to school, dance classes, etc. I also worked for a family of 4 children. I was there for 3 years. Ages 3, 5, 8, 11. I also do errands, school running, etc as well as light housekeeping. I am currently looking for a position were I can grow with the family, but also looking for consistency.

I know I am there to help the child nurture and grow, but this is also my job. I'm just looking for something that I can rely on for hours and income as well as the same for the family. That they can rely on me to be there for their children everyday providing a loving environment for them to grow in.
