I am a very energetic and caring person that loves to spend time outside! I am a psychology major at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. I greatly enjoy working with people, especially kids because they bring out the silly side of me. I have worked as a summer camp counselor at a Nature and Science Center. and coached a middle school girls lacrosse team in Portland last Spring. I really enjoy learning and teaching, which made the modern education class I took as a freshman very fulfilling and inspiring because opened my eyes to different types of communication, expression, and struggle that children, teachers, parents, and mentors experience. This class also allowed me to spend a couple hours each week mentoring underprivileged youth in Portland schools. It was amazing to work one-on-one with a child that seemed discouraged and aloof in class, but actually, given the chance, showed tremendous amounts of enthusiasm and imagination. The baking soda and vinegar volcano literally blew his mind, and mine as well. This limitless imaginative capacity that children have is why I love to work with them!

I am also CPR and First aid certified and have taken a concussion training course. So if your kids are up for a trip to the pool or a park, I can see that they stay safe. Also, living the college dorm life devoid of animals has made me eager for some puppy love so pets (of all sorts) are no problem! Lastly, I have a trusty Toyota Prius, a clean driving record, and I do not mind light cleaning and cooking.
