Good evening families. If you have been searching endlessly for a loving and caring person for your children to experience an awesome time with, your search has ended. I currently attend UNC-Charlotte and approaching my final semester where I will be student teaching. My goal this summer is to find a child-care position where I can utilize my love, experience, skill, and knowledge as a care giver and also earn a few dollars to save up for next semester when I will not be able to work due to the extensive schedule I will have as a student teacher. Let me share some of my experiences with you. In middle school I volunteered at the local recreation center my junior year in high school I volunteered at University Meadows after school program as an assistant and walked to the school everyday after I got off of the bus. I did this up until I hyper-extended my knee during basketball practice. I currently am a senior at UNC-Charlotte majoring in elementary education. My first year there I was employed as a literacy tutor with UNC-Charlotte read write serve program my freshman year. While going to to tutor, my sister's friend's dad recognized me and asked me to tutor his son. The young boy was in the 3rd grade and was struggling with every subject. I tutored him a few days a week and at the end of the school year he was not only passing his class assignments but he also was promoted to the 4th grade and was ecstatic about it. After my first year with the read write serve program I was promoted to lead tutor and then to Student Program Coordinator the following year. I was also employed as a teacher assistant for an academy after school program at the same time and have been there for 2 years. Finally I also volunteer as a Sunday school teacher at a church in Monroe and have been serving there for 2 years as well. Only 3 years experience may seem like very little, however, please consider the fact that during those 3 years I have had multiple jobs working with children at the same time. I also enjoy playing sports, swimming, doing arts and crafts, sewing, playing games where you have to use your mind, and reading. As you can see I am very hard working young woman and do my best to earn a decent living. I promise to provide a loving, playful, intellectual, and warm environment for your children.
