I am originally from a town 25 minutes north of Boston on the water, but I now live in Brooklyn, NY where I am attending college. I grew up in a very tight-knit family with a child care center. My aunt is the owner of the daycare centers and my mom worked with my aunt in the centers for over 20 years. My brother, my cousins, and I grew up in the child care centers. As I got older, I began to help out in the toddler room as I reached middle school. I started babysitting for some families in my town back home when I was in eighth grade and through high school as well. Starting during my senior year of high school I began working at a child care center, working mostly in the toddler rooms, and occasionally helping in both the infant and preschool rooms. After a few months, I began working at one of the newest centers in the infant room full-time and also helped in the toddler and preschool rooms at the new center as well. I worked at that daycare through my senior year and the summer leading up until the start of my freshman year of college. This past summer, the summer leading into my sophomore year of college, I went home for the summer to work for my aunt at her childcare centers. I helped out in all of the rooms, infant, toddler, preschool, and prekindergarten, and at two out of the three centers that my aunt has in her company. I also helped out on some occasional babysitting jobs with some families around me during the summer. I have always loved children, and as I am going to art school, I also love to be creative and always have fun. Keeping the kids laughing and enjoying their days is what is most important to me and is what makes working with kids so fulfilling for me.
