Background/Bio:

I just moved to San Diego to begin law school at the University of San Diego this August. I am looking for some babysitting opportunities to help offset my student loans. I live in Linda Vista very close to the campus but have my own car so reliable transportation is not a problem.

Prior to relocating I was living and working FT as a legal assistant at a law firm in Arlington, Virginia. I graduated from the University of Mary Washington (Fredericksburg, VA) in 2009 with a BS in Economics (3. 25 GPA). I am single and have no children of my own. In Arlington, I was also a mentor with Big Brother Big Sisters and spent 2-3 weekends a month engaging in various activities with my 12-year-old "little sister" to help her through the struggles of adolescence.

Experience:
I began as a mother's helper at age 14 for a couple families in our neighborhood. In high school, I began working as a babysitter for those families as well as others in the nearby area. In college, I babysat for 2 families in the Fredericksburg/Stafford area. I cared for twin newborns (6 months old) and a toddler (2 years old) for one family. The second family had two boys ages 10 and 14 and the youngest was autistic. I got the boys ready for school in the mornings (beginning at 5:00 a.m. ), dropped them off, picked them up in the afternoons, took them to tutoring and soccer practice and then helped them with homework and made dinner in the evenings.

Recent: (October 2011-December 2012).
1.) Two Friday or Saturday evenings a month I cared for 2 boys (ages 4 & 7). Played outside (soccer/tennis), prepared dinner, played legos, gave both boys a bath, put on pj's, read books before bed, and tucked in.

2.) 1-2 times/month I babysat an 18-month-old girl during weeknight evenings while parents ran errands/attend class/work late. Fed dinner in highchair, practiced simple words in Spanish & English (foods, animals, etc.), watched Sesame St. or Dora, played with toys & puzzles, changed diaper, and put her to bed with book or music.

3.) I watched 2 boys (ages 7 & 10) about 1 Friday per month while parents had a date night/event. Finished up dinner, played board games, watched movies, got both boys ready for bed (brush teeth/pajamas), and house sat until parents returned home.
