I began babysitting in junior high for family and friends. Mostly helping to care for my three younger cousins now 6, 9, and 12 since the youngest was born with disabilities in 2006.

The past two summers I spent as a nanny. In 2010, I was a nanny for two neighboring families, watching a total of three children between the ages of 9 and 13. The following year I was a nanny for only one of the families, watching two children 10 and 14. During these summers I took the kids on outings to the beach and park. Many times during these summers other neighborhood kids would join me and the kids for outings and activities.

Currently I watch three children, 7, 9, 12, in the mornings before school. I make sure all three eat, get dressed, and have their schoolwork done and packed on time. I also watch these children after school, on weekends, and overnight from time to time.

In addition to babysitting, I have participated in the mentoring program at my high school for the past two years. My junior year I helped out in a first grade class once a week. This past year I have been working one on one with a fourth grader once a week.

Finally, I currently tutor grades five through eight for an hour once a week.
