My mother ran an in home daycare while I was a child and a teenager so I have been around kids for a long time (even when I was one)! I babysat 3 of my cousins for 6 years; each one of them I sat as an infant. I also did other babysitting jobs for family friends. I have also cared for many different types of animals; chickens, hamsters, cats dogs, lizards. This may seem irrelevant, but I feel it is a statement of my ability to care for all creatures, and a demonstration of my patience. I currently live with my aunt and 5-year-old cousin, whom I care for quite often seeing as that we live in the same home. I help cook and clean for our family, as well as a family of 5 that we are very close with (their children range in age from 9 to 6). I currently work at The Learning Center. I am in the 3-4-year-old room. I am responsible for the care of 20 children; I keep them clean, happy, fed, and engaged. I am not the type of sitter who likes to sit the kids in front of the TV. I love arts and crafts, reading, playing outside, etc. Education is very important to me, and when caring for any child I try and encourage as much self confidence through knowledge as possible.
