My experience started off taking care of a 6-week-old baby full time, who at the time I only expected to work with that family for a few months but as time went on the family I was working with decided to have a second child who I also took care of as an infant. My responsibilities included making and feeding them their meals, taking them to the park and library....

I have 14 years experience as a child caregiver. My experience started off taking care of a 6-week-old baby full time, who at the time I only expected to work with that family for a few months but as time went on the family I was working with decided to have a second child who I also took care of as an infant. My responsibilities included making and feeding them their meals, taking them to the park and library. Basically doing activities such as music, dancing, arts and crafts and taking them to swimming classes, etc. While working with that same family, I worked with several friends of theirs that I was referred to by them. The reason I stopped working for them was because they no longer needed me since the oldest child was 12 years old and the second child was 9 years. I enjoyed the 12 years I worked with that particular family, so much that I decided to work at a childcare as a teacher's aide working with infants. Since I started working there in 2009, I've been taking my child development units to become a child care teacher. Working with children is a great passion of mine. I am employed M-F (full time) at the child care but I am looking to find a part time job.
