I am a retired elementary/special needs teacher employed for 30 years. For most of my career, I have worked with children who had special needs & other children on the elementary school level. My last 10 years of teaching, I had the pleasure of working with students from age 13 to 26. I have taken care of friends and family members children from infancy and older. In this capacity, I, also, cared for children while moms needed a sitter to run errands, get mani/pedicures, beauty shop appointments, lunches with friends, and a mommy's helper in the home (while mom was there) and needed an extra set of hands etc. I have always received great joy and satisfaction working with children. I became a teacher because of my deep commitment to making a difference in the life of a child. I raised 2 beautiful daughters, on my own, that have grown up to be outstanding, self-sufficient women. I take an on-hands approach with children believing that they learn through interactive activities. People have always said that I have a tender heart, sense of humor, and a gentle, kind and loving spirit.
