As a "young" grandmother, I have many years of experience caring for children and adults. I have cared for my son who is mentally disabled, I have four grandchildren, ages 9-18 years of age. I am actively involved in my youngest grandchild's upbringing since my daughter is divorced and goes to college, and I help out with his well being and care. He has ADHD and I strive to keep him stimulated with educational activities and also with good physical exercise type activities instead of just him sit on the TV. I have worked in the medical community for many years in doctors' offices and hospitals and recently have as well. I have been a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, a teacher's assistant in preschool and primary elementary school with all my children and most recently with my grandson's class. I can give references, such as my grandson's kindergarten teacher whom I have also known for many years, and his first-grade teacher, whom I also know personally and I have helped out in his class and been present at all his family-oriented school activities. I have young neighbors whose children have played with me and my grandchildren and know I am there for them. I have had CPR and first-aid training.
