I have had a lifetime of interacting and taking care of children of all ages. Growing up as the oldest of five children and the oldest grandchild of 25, I have always had the opportunity to care for someone else, and I love it! I am currently working at a school for children with autism. I am an autism aide here and have had an awesome experience being able to work one on one with these kids. Before that, I worked as a full time live-in nanny in New Hampshire. I took care of 3 young boys ages (6, 4, and 2) for a single mother. I loved that year and had fun with those boys I was sad to see it end. I would love to work with children--a child who knows how to keep a grown up busy! My strengths are staying creative with those I work with. Somethings I have been known to do are scavenger hunts, baking cookies, and making bird feeders. I have also had experience as a nanny to help with homework and as a school aid to be the teacher, helping kids comprehend what they are learning is important to me and would be part of my expected job. I also understand that kids can be messy and get hungry, with that said I know cleaning as well as cooking would be something that I would/may have to do.
