I'm 29-years-old. I speak English and Spanish. I have four years experience with child care. I'm very responsible, patient, a non-smoker, punctual, helpful, and trustworthy. I love playing with kids. I worked as a child care provider in a day care (in my country) and as a nanny in Massachusetts and Colorado. I'm very experienced working with infants and motor skills exercises. I am also familiar with teaching Spanish, dances, flash cards, specialty crafts, songs, sports, and story-telling. I feel very comfortable with different ages.
In Massachusetts, I worked taking care of three children. I cared for a 4-month-old girl with a heart condition. She had a feeding tube and required special care. I also took care of her brothers, a 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy. I was trained by the girl's nurses and learned motor skills exercises and games to strengthen infant muscles. The kids loved me and were with me at all times, even in my room despite that my shift had ended. We would have nutritious snacks, milkshakes, and extra toilet paper inside the bathroom because they were learning. In the summer we were running away from bees and digging for treasures in the garden. And in the winter, we had fun sledding and building snowmen. It was really fun and I missed them a lot after I moved here to Colorado.
I have lived in Colorado for three years and have worked with two families. The first one had a 13-month-old boy. We went through the walking and talking stage together. It was really rewarding seeing him develop his new vocabulary in Spanish. We were always playing hide and seek, reading, dancing, singing, and playing with Legos. I have a wonderful relationship with his family and I still baby-sit him since he and I are so close and they trust me so much.
With the second family, I took care of a 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl. Walking them home from school, we would play hide and seek behind tree trunks with some swimming in the leaves in the fall time. The three of us had fun making origami, sewing, weaving friendship bracelets, and making paper mache. We also made some cinnamon Popsicles and cookies and practiced brain games and learning Spanish.
I enjoy taking the kids on fun trips like the zoo, children's museum, science museum, and parks. I will happily provide references and recommendations. I also have CPR/AED certification for adults, CPR for child and infant and standard First Aid training.
