I am 55 years old. I am available and have a flexible schedule. I am patient, loving, caring, honest and trustworthy. I am a very hard-working person. I have a good attitude toward others, and am willing to help and learn. I like reading baby books to know the latest and best ways to raise children, as well as reading books to the children. I am bilingual in Spanish and English and willing to teach Spanish to the kids. I took care of two children; a little girl, from when she was 2 and a little boy, from when he was 6 months old. I stayed with the same family for five years, but the family did not need me anymore because the children were starting to go to school. I have childcare experience with infants to preschoolers. I was responsible for simple meals, (I understand the importance of a balanced meal including fruits and vegetables. Some kids are picky eaters but I believe in small portions with a variety of foods and I can get creative with the food if you'd like, too - cut it into shapes, hide pieces in small bowls, use healthy dipping sauces, etc.) I do not believe in spanking. I have never spanked a child I cared for and would never raise a hand or my voice to your child. I am a very mild mannered person and I believe in redirection and time outs when necessary (though I've found I rarely need these if I'm active with the children). I spent the night with the children in their home while the parents were away and the children have also stayed overnight at my home. I cared for their neighbor's children as well, while the parents had an evening out. I have taken care of a 6-month-old and his 2-year-old brother, once a week, for a year. I have taken care of a 2-month-old little girl. She had a variety of food allergies (peanut, milk, eggs,) pet dander allergy, and eczema. I have taken care of a 5-month-old boy for 5 months. I have also raised my three children, who are now 24, 30 and 31 years old. I do not drive but I have a reliable transportation, so I will always be on time!
