I am the eldest child of four, I have many relatives/friends who had unplanned pregnancies that couldn't afford day care. I was always there to lend a hand. I am great at house duties (cooking, cleaning etc.). As a result of my mother inspiring me to be a community leader, I joined her community group, the Unity Council, when I was 10. Since then, I have always been involved in peer leadership programs for under-privileged youth. I got involved with Health Initiatives For Youth when I was 15 and continued my stay there from First Year Peer Leader to Bi-Lingual Health Trainer when I was 18 because of state funding cuts. Fortunately, I took great teaching tools from that wonderful program. I am highly experienced in making curricula for children, teens and even adults that is engaging, fun and educational. I have managed to learn how to control an unruly crowd without threats or insults and instead with kind words and positive reassurance. Currently, I am working in restaurants as a waitress however, I find that education is more my calling. I want to start going to school to obtain a degree in Child Psychology, that may just turn into a teaching degree though.
