Hello! My name is Erin and I have been working in childcare for over 16 years! I have my degree from Colorado State University in Early Childhood Education as well as a license to teach preschool through third grade. I am currently working as a nanny and have cared for the same two children since January 2008. In the fall, both children will be attending elementary school and I will be opening a licensed and insured in-home family childcare.

In addition to being a nanny I have also worked at two large childcare centers, both providing care for children ages six weeks to 12 years old. One of the centers I worked at was a Montessori school, where I worked as an assistant teacher/ floater in the primary classroom. I worked primarily during the summer months over a period of three years. After I graduated, I worked at another large childcare center for over three years. I started as the kindergarten teacher and Hooked on Phonics instructor. Shortly after, I was promoted to the Assistant Director and later the Director. Working at each of these centers provided me with two very different yet positive experiences. I was able to learn and gain experience from the different teaching methods and feel very fortunate that I could take what I believe to be the greatest elements from each to form my own personal teaching techniques and philosophy.

As a teacher, caregiver and mom, I believe in providing a loving, happy, educational and secure environment for children. I strive to enrich each child with a love of learning, a positive self-image, and a sense of creativity. I also strive to promote mutual respect between the parent, the child, and myself. In my home I will be providing the children with many different educational activities and play centers to explore and participate in. I will provide developmentally appropriate toys, activities and programs for the children to experience and enjoy. I will also be incorporating field trips, walks, music, art, and stories into my programs. My doors will always be open to the parents and I will be available for daily communication.
