I have been taking care of kids for over 10 years. I am from a large family with 23 cousins and 5 brothers and sisters. My childcare experience began when my little sister was born when I was 13. I experienced her entire delivery with my mother and cut her umbilical cord and it was then that I grew to love taking care of children. I worked as a nanny and a lifeguard through high school in Georgia. The family I nannied for had three children ages 3, 5, and 7. As a lifeguard, I watched a wide range of children and learned first aid and CPR skills which I have kept up to date since. In college at LSU, I worked at The Alfred G. Rayner Learning Center as an assistant preschool teacher in the 2-year-olds' classroom and also assisted in the baby room with infants ages 3-18 months. After working there for a year, I was offered a full time nanny position by one of the mothers of a child in my class. I worked for her family for two years. They had two boys ages 2 and 4 until two years ago when they added a beautiful baby girl to the mix. The boys started going to school full time so I stayed with the newborn during business hours. I was with this family for four years total until August of this year as they moved to South Carolina. Other than the full time jobs, I have babysat for multiple other families in the Baton Rouge area on occasion. I truly enjoy being around children and I love learning things from them while I teach them about life and nurture them.
